The basic job of a programmer is to write code that runs the robots functions. Using National Instruments’ Labview, we utilize logic and math to make sure the robot runs as efficiently as possible. By making all the functions of the robots run smoothly and efficiently, the programming subteam puts emphasis on making code reusable. Now with all the progress we have made as a subteam, enough emphasis cannot be put on the help of our mentors. Without the many lessons in critical thinking and chronic stress relief, we wouldn’t be as adept with programming as we are now.
Tips for rookies- Any struggling programming sub team, especially one in a rookie team, can call upon many different resources to help them. Some of these resources are: asking programmers from another team for help (Such as us! Email programming@team1676.com for programming help), bringing in mentors from another team, as well as using one of the many collaboration websites that have been set up by various teams such as http://chiefdelphi.com. In addition, the best way to learn as a rookie is to ask lots of questions. Every rookie should be inquisitive. Finally, it is important to know that every problem has a solution, stay positive!
