Computer Aided Design (CAD) is a software used by engineers to create 3D models and 2D drawings. The Pi-oneers use autoInventor 2015 as our CAD software and we cad (yes it can be used as a verb) the robot as an entirety. We are responsible for making sure the robot is compact and within the maximum dimensions,
that all of the parts mechanical, electrical and pneumatics want to put on the robot fit appropriately, and most importantly, that mechanical did all of their math accurately.
Tips for Rookies:
Have fun with it, don’t be impatient with inventor, practice makes
perfect, and most importantly, keep taking those dreaded math classes!
